Bosch Smart Solutions Conference 2016

18. November 2016by ficba

Bosch, one of the leading
world companies in the area of technology and associated services, is
organising the “Bosch Smart Solutions €ť regional conference in the Congress Hall
of the Zagreb Fair (Globus) on Wednesday, 30 November 2016 at 9:30. The
conference will bring together Bosch partners and representatives of relevant
institutions and organisations from Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and
Herzegovina as well as ensure a platform for the exchange of knowledge and
experience in the area of advanced technologies.

Three main topics will be
discussed: Smart Cities, Smart Tourism and Industry 4.0. The interesting
concept of the conference will offer smart solutions for the improvement of
quality of life in cities, suggest creative solutions in tourism, but also show
that modern industry can be connected and automated in a simple way.

Smart
City

Bosch is working on increasing
the intelligence of an entire city. Nowadays, almost 4 billion people live in
cities worldwide. By 2050, this number will have increased to almost 6.5
billion. Smart connected cities have the potential to provide better quality of
life to all citizens. The city of Monaco has been using Bosch technologies for
digital connectivity for years by making use of the technological potential of
the Internet of Things and services, while initially focusing on mobility. City
infrastructure and public services – such as bus networks, parking management,
paper and waste collection, and information on roadworks – are connected
virtually, providing local residents with real-time information.

Industry
4.0

In the world of connected
industry, also known as Industry 4.0, Bosch benefits first and foremost from
the practical experience it gains by applying it in around 250 of its own
facilities. The company translates this in-house experience into services for
third parties. One of these is the Production Performance Manager, which
visualizes production data in real time and autonomously initiates maintenance
processes. Bosch expects that by 2020 connected industry will deliver a total
of 1 billion euros in cost savings and generate an additional 1 billion euros
in sales.

Tourism

Tourism is a unique system of
supply, production and consumption. As one of the most complex activities, it
has the opportunity to be among the first to profit from smart solutions as
well as to utilize them in an extremely wide range of areas. Smart solutions
enable constant expansion, improvement and an increasingly precise
individualisation of services as well as a targeted dataflow. Furthermore, they
allow for an increasingly efficient use of resources and processes. In a
broader business environment, they make it possible to increase the coherence
of supporting activities. The question of competitiveness has been raised to a
higher level. Bosch has implemented convincing answers worldwide.
