FIC representatives took part at the panel discussion with “COWEB’ Committee of EU Member State diplomats

Members of the European Union’s Working Party on the Western Balkans Region (COWEB) visited Bosnia and Herzegovina from 25 to 27 May. The members are diplomats from the embassies of the 28 Member States to the EU.

The two-day visit aimed to inform COWEB members about the political and economical situation in the country through meetings with representatives of the local institutions, international community and civil society. In addition to local authorities, COWEB delegates also expressed an interest in meeting with representatives of the business community to hear opinions on the business environment, business conditions and the current impact of the reform agenda on the economy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On this occasion, on 26 May EU Delegation/European Union Special Representative office in Sarajevo hosted a panel discussion that included both locally and internationally driven entrepreneurs and members of business community. Foreign Investors Council (FIC) was invited to take part at the panel. Ms. Sanja Miovcic, Executive Director, Foreign Investors Council  gave a short overview on the topic ”The General business environment – situation and prospects” while Mr. Valentin Ilievski, Managing Director of Messer Technoplin d.o.o. Sarajevo and Board Member of the FIC held a presentation on ”Contract enforcement – the legal side of doing business”.

Other respective panelists were:  Mr. Sasa Acic, Director of the Union of Employer’s Associations of the Republika Srpska, Mr. Adin Fakic Director of Milkos, Sarajevo and Mr. Milad Cerkić, Director of Atlantbh, Sarajevo. Collectively the panelist took part at fruitful discussion with around 30 representatives of COWEB delegation, covering both challenges, issues and prospects of the local and regional economy.
